  • Meet & Greet - Transition/College Fair 2017

    The Ramsey School District invites you to come and meet with local and statewide agencies that provide services & supports to students during their transition years. This transition fair is an opportunity for families and community stakeholders to meet with colleges/agencies who provide mental health, planning, transition and other services within Bergen county and the surrounding areas.   • STEM Showcase Event at Smith School - March 30th

    The Smith School STEM Showcase is on March 30th from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the Smith gymnasium. The showcase will feature student exhibits that display the process and product of their inquiry in STEM. Students in 7th & 8th grade voluntarily explored a scientific question or designed a solution to an engineering challenge. Also highlighted will be STEM-related school-based projects. Additional STEM stations will be hosted by Stryker, All Things Media, local college students, and Smith faculty. We hope you can join us.

  • Preschool Registration March 10, 2017

    As part of the experiences for Ramsey High School students enrolled in the Child Development Class, Ramsey and Saddle River preschool age children are invited to participate in a preschool program that is supervised by Ramsey High School students and the Child Development teaching staff. Registration forms for the October 2017 preschool class will be available at the High School General Office on March 10, 2017, beginning no earlier than 9:00am and on the preschool website, bit.ly/rhspreschool.     Wrap Registration Night is scheduled for Thursday, February 23rd (inclement weather date is March 2nd) 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at the Ramsey High School, room 118.   • Kindergarten Registration

    Kindergarten Registration: Registration for the 2017 -2018 school year begins on December 7, 2016. To be eligible for Kindergarten, students must be 5 years old on or before October 1, 2017. Pre-registration applications will be available online on December 7th. Applicants will register at either Mary A. Hubbard or Wesley D. Tisdale Schools on January 24th through January 27th by appointment. Please bring completed registration materials to the appointment.

  • Science Standards Update

    On October 24, Ms. Holly Falcone, Supervisor of Science and Technology Education for the Ramsey School District, presented an overview of the Next Generation Science Standards to the Board of Education Curriculum Committee. New Jersey adopted the new standards, called the New Jersey Student Learning Standards in Science, with implementation beginning this school year for grades 6-12. The new science standards reflect the most current research on science education outlined in the Framework for K-12 Science Education, a National Research Council publication. The new standards emphasize students using science and engineering practices and core scientific ideas to make sense of and explain phenomenon.Click headline for more information...

  • Ramsey's Music Department Receives Various Awards

    October was a month to remember for the Ramsey Music Department, as a numbers of individual students and ensembles have been recognized with various honors. The month began with auditions for the Music Educators of Bergen County's middle school band and chorus. This was a banner year for our students as 18 middle school students earned 20 total spots in the 2016 All-County Middle School Band and Chorus. Click headline to learn more.

    Over the summer nearly 150 staff members came in to work on further developing our exciting and innovative program and to clarify and refine the instructional practices that support our curricular goals. Our sole focus remains on offering curriculum that ensures that rigorous content, 21st Century competencies, effective technology integration, and authentic assessments are an integral part of every unit of study throughout the district.
