    The Ramsey Ccommunity School will be moving its office from its current location in the Ramsey High School to the John Y. Dater School in Ramsey, effective June, 2017. 
    The Community School office will be closed Friday, June 2 through Monday, June 5 as office equipment and furnishings will be in transit to our new location. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, June 6; we will answer phone calls and emails as promptly as possible during our move.

    Parents of 2017/2018 Kindergartners:

    Although enrollment for the Wrap program is capped and is on a first come, first served basis, we will make every effort to accept all registrations.  Please call the RCS office at 201-327-2025 for availability.  See below to download a 2017-2018 Wrap Registration Packet.


    "Wrap" is a half day enrichment program designed to compliment, not duplicate, your child's kindergarten experience.  See the "What Happens in Wrap" page for curriculum/enrichment details.
    The program is offered in a classroom setting at Hubbard and Tisdale schools.  Wrap is offered in morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) sessions - depending upon your child's kindergarten placement - in a 5 day schedule and in the afternoon only for the 3 day (Tues/Wed/Thurs) schedule.  Wrap follows all of the RSD kindergarten hours of operation, including closings. 
    For the 5 day program Wrap's monthly tuition is $480.
    For the 3 day program (Tues/Wed/Thurs) Wrap's monthly tuition is $290. 
    Children entering kindergarten in September 2016 who are enrolled in kindergarten in the Ramsey School District are eligible to enroll. 
    Submit a completed and signed registration packet, a non-refundable registration fee of $65 and the June 2017 tuition payment (if enrolling after June 31, 2017 September tuition is due as well.)

  • Summer Sensations camp registration begins March 15th!ss
    The Ramsey Community School’s Youth & Children’s Programs (“YCP”) office will begin accepting registrations for Summer Sensations camp starting the night of March 15th.  
    Note that 2017 Summer Sensations will be at Hubbard School!

    Summer Sensations is a morning enrichment program designed for children entering Kindergarten through 5th grade in the upcoming school year.  Workshops are designed to stimulate creative thinking while integrating reading, math, science, computer, music, art, and other skills.  Children will build skills and explore their special interests in workshops of their choice, designed and taught by teaching professionals.  Workshops such as Masterpiece Art Studio, the Young Actor’s Studio, Eco Art Explorers, Makers & Marketers, Restaurant Express, and Wild & Wacky Science are just a few of the exciting offerings that make learning fun!  Camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., five days per week.  Summer Sensations offers three, 1 week sessions starting July 10th and ending July 28th at Hubbard School in Ramsey.

Upcoming Enrichment Activities
At RCS we understand the importance of offering convenient, quality childcare at an affordable price.  We also understand the value of enriching, quality afterschool activities for our students. Look under your child's school and click on a title to see what enrichment workshops are coming their way!
The Ramsey Community School and the Ramsey High School are teaming up to offer your child a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting new workshop program being designed specially for students in Ramsey’s Extended Day program called 'Kids Teaching Kids'.  With their high school teacher’s oversight, the RHS student’s will develop and write the workshop curriculum as well as instruct the Extended Day students on site at their school. It's a wonderful opportunity for these students to experience teaching and all it's facets as well as mentor children in the lower grades. 

The pilot workshop, 'Kids Cooking Club' was successfully offered this fall at Tisdale School and continues through June. Extended Day aftercare students will have the benefit of experiencing a hands-on culinary workshop which incorporates nutrition and diet, cooking skills, kitchen safety, and social skills. 

Throughout the school year a variety of Kids Teaching Kids workshops will be offered to the Extended Day (RED) students only.  Please make sure your child attends aftercare on the workshop date. Registration forms will be available at the school's aftercare site and the YCP office located in the Dater School, room 130.

Learn to play the most popular game ever invented: the game of strategy and problem solving! Now is your chance to bring your game to the next level. Whether you are a beginner or advanced-beginner, you can learn the strategies that will make you a better chess player. Best of all, CHESS IS FUN! 
Young Jedi will explore worlds far, far away and engineering principles right in front of them. Defeat the Empire by designing and refining Lego X-Wings, R2-units, and settlements on far-flung edges of the galaxy. Imagination and engineering combine to create motorized and architectural projects such as energy catapults, shield generators and defense turrets. Taught by Play-Well Teknologies.

Is it science or magic? Sign up for Science Wizards and find out! You’ll learn how to create bouncing bubbles, investigate the science of optical illusions, conduct air pressure experiments, and discover the secrets of sound. The mystery of each experiment is solved through the power of science! Each day we’ll work together to hypothesize, guess, test and experiment! It’s a magical mystery tour you won’t want to miss!
All new lessons!  Social Skills Scholars focuses on developing greater self and social awareness. Every week a new topic will be introduced, discussed, and practiced using a dynamic variety of activities, projects, games, and stories. Topics will include personal space, the power of words, kindness, empathy, “yes, I can,” and more! Instructor: Debra Gordon, NJ State Certified School Psychologist
In this stellar workshop you’ll use the Earth’s closest celestial neighbor as a springboard to create art!  Using the moon and its phases as an element in your artwork, you’ll learn about famous artists such as Henri Russo, Thomas Cole, Edvard Munch and Vincent Van Gogh. We’ll talk about moon folklore, myths and legends to inspire you. We’ll also learn about the six moon landings and the twelve astronauts who were so inspired by the moon that they actually visited. Join us on our voyage to the moon… and back!
